Introducing Vanguard's Beacon app
Vanguard is introducing a new mobile app in 2020—we're calling it Beacon (for now). We invite you to download it and see what we've built so far. Get a feel for the new design—tell us what's important to you, which features you love and which you'd like to change, and what you'd like to see in the future.
We've been listening to you, and we'd love to hear more.
Keep the old, test-drive the new
Beacon is a fully secure, working app, that enables you to view your accounts and performance. It's available to download in the App Store for iPhone or Google Play. We'd love for you to try it out and let us know what you think. We're adding new features about every two weeks.
If you've been using the Vanguard app, keep it installed. Complex functions like trading aren't available in Beacon yet, but they're coming soon.

Our app for iPhone already supports fingerprint recognition, and we're excited to announce that Android users can now take advantage of this convenient and secure feature.
If you use our existing Vanguard app, don't delete it. When the time comes to officially launch the new, improved version, your Vanguard app will automatically update to reflect all the changes and enhancements we develop in Beacon. As you explore Beacon's look and feel, share your feedback anytime by clicking the [+] icon in the top right corner of your screen.
We'll be ready to launch later this year. You'll be notified of what steps to take when the time comes.
Not interested? No problem.
Our Vanguard app will still be available and fully functioning, so you can continue to use it normally. The Vanguard app lets you view your assets and personal performance; buy, sell, and exchange investments; perform research; use mobile check deposit; and access news and perspectives.
When our new app is fully developed and ready to launch, your Vanguard app will automatically update to incorporate our new features and enhancements. And we'll notify you each time we release an update.
You don't have to use the Vanguard Beacon app, though we'd love to get your feedback as we test upcoming features and enhancements. But if you love the current Vanguard app, you can continue to use it. We'll let you know when we've updated the official Vanguard app, incorporating all the updates we've been developing in Beacon.
Yes—in fact, we encourage you to use both for the time being. You can browse Vanguard Beacon to view your account information and order status, but you can't transact using the Vanguard Beacon app yet. Continue to use the current Vanguard app for any transactions, and we'll let you know as soon as transacting is available in Beacon.
We're working to add transaction capabilities as soon as possible. In the meantime, we want to get Vanguard Beacon in your hands so you can check it out, explore our new look and feel, and share any suggestions you have.
We'll elevate new features, updates, and fixes to Vanguard Beacon about every two weeks. If you don't have automatic updates turned on, we'll communicate any updates by sending them to the app store (Apple/Google Play). You may want to check your app store periodically to read about Vanguard Beacon updates and information.

The information displayed in the Vanguard Beacon app is the same information you'll see in the current Vanguard mobile app. The difference is that some features, like trading, aren't yet available in the new Vanguard Beacon app yet.
Vanguard takes client security seriously. Both the current Vanguard mobile app and the new Vanguard Beacon app are tested rigorously to ensure your information is as safe and secure as possible. Learn more about security at Vanguard here.
